Make a Lasting Impact on the Camp Colton Legacy with Gift and Estate Planning

Include Friends of Camp Colton in your will or estate planning.

Work with your professional advisor to include Friends as a primary or contingent beneficiary in your will or trust. Please contact Ari Wilder, Friends of Camp Colton Executive Director, for sample bequest language or more information at [email protected] or 928-864-8129.

Make gifts through your Individual Retirement Account (IRA).

Do you have an IRA? Have you reached the age of 70 ½? You can make a tax-free contribution of up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to Friends of Camp Colton. If you’re subject to IRS required minimum distribution (RMD) rules from your IRA, your gift can also count toward your RMD. According to current IRS regulations, you must begin taking withdrawals from a regular IRA at age 72, or 73 if you reach age 72 after Dec. 31, 2022. This will qualify as your required minimum distribution. Qualified charitable distributions transferred directly from your IRA account to Friends of Camp Colton will not be taxed.

Make a gift of appreciated stocks or real estate.

Consider giving appreciated assets to Friends of Camp Colton. For gift of securities, you can deduct the full fair market value and avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation, up to 30% of the Adjusted Gross Income.

*Please note: Friends of Camp Colton cannot provide tax or legal advice. We encourage you to consult with your professional advisor before making a planned gift.
