YOUR CHILD'S CAMP COLTON EXPERIENCE
At Camp, we learn and live together. We sleep on bunk beds in small groups, and even in the middle of the night the nearest adults are only a few tent-lengths away. Between expeditions, special guest presenters, learning new games, and trying new things, we take breaks for 3 meals and 2 snacks per day, all prepared by our Camp Cook. With so much to do and see, we’ll be enjoying the outdoors almost all day.

OUR CAMPUS
We have 16 platform tents and two cabins. Each of these spaces sleeps 8-10 campers on bunk beds. Camp Colton staff sleep together in two of the platform tents, located in the middle of the sleeping area.
The nearby bathroom & shower facilities are fully accessible and each shower has privacy curtains. In addition, a private bathroom & shower may be available for camper use as needed.
Campers, staff, and teachers enjoy meals together in Camp Colton’s central lodge. Meals are well-balanced, varied, and camper-approved! Every day campers are provided with an optional afternoon & evening snack.
In addition to mealtime, Camp Colton’s lodge is a gathering area for activities, houses the 24-hour nurse’s office which provides a private area to care for campers who are unwell, and the Camp Office which is a safe space for campers to check in with the Camp Colton Director or Program Coordinator day or night.
Our outdoor campus also features multiple fire rings, an archery range, a nature play area, and places to play Boomball, Gagaball, table tennis, horseshoes, frisbee, and more.
Camp Colton’s location is beautiful as it is powerful, and we acknowledge the sacred land where we learn, teach, and build community. Stewarded by Indigenous people from time immemorial, this land is revered by more than 14 tribes. We extend our respect to the past, present, and emerging members of these Nations. Being at Camp Colton is a special experience and we are grateful to have the opportunity to connect with nature, and each other, on this sacred land.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
With no phones allowed at Camp Colton, how can I contact my child?
Director Jackson Carranco is always available for phone calls and text messages. Although your child will not have their phone, we can schedule calls or pass along information as needed to help you and your child have a fun, safe, successful experience at Camp Colton.
What if my kid gets homesick?
With all the wide open space, friendly staff, and their own teachers with them, we hope all our campers find themselves enjoying learning how capable they are of spending a week outdoors and away from some of the comforts of home. That said, anytime a camper is having a tough week, for any reason, our first step is to affirm your child, and have Camp Colton Director Jackson Carranco call home to check in with how you would like to move forward and handle the situation. We are here to make sure you and your child have a great Camp Colton experience.
Is my child required to shower at Camp?
While every camper at Camp Colton is invited to use a given time slot to take one shower during their stay, no camper will be forced to. Some prefer to come home slightly clean, others prefer to save all the special Camp Colton dirt for home!

No, we provide 3 meals and 2 snacks per day that meet the dietary restrictions of your child. If you’d like to consider sending special snacks or meals with your child, we can certainly talk about how to support you.
